Happy Long Weekend,

This will be a very quick post becasue Craig and I are leaving on our seven night cruise to the bahamaas tommorow morning.I am so excited I even have my cruise inspirede outfit picked out already. Will post pics when I get back but it is nautical and vintage inspired. I can not wait to lay by the pool relaxing and reading new books and magazines. As well as visit some beautiful beaches too. In terms of Corvus Noir the shop will remain open but any purchases made will be shipped once we return on Monday the 13th. Today is really my Friday since Craig is off tomorrow. We are gearing up for our cruise, lots of errands after work picking up last minute things like flip flops and beach towels. In fact we have a trip to Target planned tonight. Back to blog stuff, I was never a fan of the Simple Life but I do love the style of Nicole Richie. I love how her style is very bohemian, like a modern day hippie. She always wears her hair super long, I have been growing mine for the last four years. My favorite look on her is when she wears the long vintage maxi dresses with tons of color and pattern. If i could I would live in those dresses every day. Her style seems very effortless but put together in the same way. When I heard she started a clothing line I was skeptical like everyone else. Another celebrity line that she would endorse but not really design. However, I was pleasantly wrong and I love her collection. I love her silk kimono jackets and dresses. Everything seems so vintage inspired and it makes me happy to see she actually wears all of her designs every day. Now that is a true designer. Hello All,
Lauren and I are very proud to announce our participation in a charity event on September 11th to benefit Haiti. The foundation is called Art For Life and will take place at the Cell Theatre (click her for details) in Chelsea (338 West 23rd st) from 2-7 pm. We’re entering a very special piece to the silent auction in hopes of raising tons of money for Water Without Borders. This is the second piece we’ve created especially for charity and our goal is always to raise the bar as high as possible. The suggested donation is $35, but if you mention our name you can get in as a VIP for $15. Included with admission are refreshments, live music, body painting, raffles and silent auctions (it’s guaranteed to be a great night). So, without further ado, meet our brand new island themed necklace composed of a wonderful, enamel parrot pendant combined with colorful beads and gold tone chains.

I recently stumbled upon jewelry designer Jessica de Lotz website the other day and have fallen in love with her jewelry. My favorite collection is “The Love Story. Paris 1946.” She was inspired by a vintage purse she found that was filled with personal memorabilia of the previous owner. Items such as tickets, id cards, certificates etc. She used one of the photos as inspirations in some of her designs as well. She re created some of the objects she found into wearable jewelry. My favorite design is her waxed seal jewelry. She has turned wax seals into charm necklaces and bangles out of gold toned metals. When ordering a piece, you have the option of choosing a letter from the alphabet to be stamped on your seal(perfect for wearing your love interest’s initial with you always), an Eiffel tower, crown, kiss, or a dinner plate with knife and fork. All very different, it would be fun to start a collection. When I was little and playing in my grandparents art store, I always admired the wax seals. I used to organize all of the wax by color and look at the various seals they sold. I never did buy any of them but it would have been perfect for the summer I was away at sleep away camp. I wrote a lot of letters that summer. Oh well, now that I am an adult, I think it is time to bring letter writing back into my life with a monogrammed seal. A V for Vitello would be perfect. Today is a short post. We are leaving on our cruise on Saturday and I have alot of work to finish up and lots of cleaning to do before this weekend. I am working on a necklace today that I am donating to a charity event, more details soon. I am loving how the necklace is coming out so far and am taking my time with it and not rushing. After that, the rest of the week will be devoted to this unorganized apartment. No one wants to come back home to a messy apartment after a nice vacation. And believe me my office is a mess and needs to be put back into order. The pics below were taken a few weeks ago at a park in upstate NY. I love this dress and it is the perfect fall dress hence the dark color. The various floral fabrics brings a much needed cheerfulness to my outfit. I am a big fan of floral prints so wearing all of these prints all at once is a treat.

Happy Monday,

I had a great Sunday in CT running errands and taking a little unexpected trip to Goodwill. Most times I don’t find much but yesterday my luck changed. I found three nineties style dresses, a little on the longer side which is perfect for fall. I can’t wait to pair them with boots and maybe a blazer. I also found a great colorful silk dinner jacket from the 80′s as well. When I think of 90′s dressing the girls from Saved By The Bell always pop into my head. SBTB was my favorite show growing up when i was around the age of 10. I loved all of the characters and their clothes. They definitely were not afraid to wear bold, colorful, and loud prints all at once. Lots of high waisted jeans, floral leggings, crop tops, body con dresses and more. Since fashion is having such a 90′s revival at the moment SBTB is the perfect show to gain inspiration from. You can tell that American Apparel has gained alot of inspiration from the show.

I am always happy when the weekend rolls around. Especially since this time next week I will be packing for our cruise vacation to the Bahamas. The blue water and white sandy beaches have been inspiring my new designs this week. Expect to see white and blue beaded necklaces mixed with gold tone chains coming soon to the shop. Hi All,

So happy its Thursday. I am most excited that my favorite shows on T.V. are starting their fall season in a couple of weeks, one of my favorites being Gossip Girl. Yes you can say at 28 I am too old to be watching teen dramas but in my defence, all of the actors on the show are in their twenties too. If they can play it, I can watch it. Serena is one of my favorite characters style wise. I love everything about her style. She started the show dressing very bohemian and care free. Lots of denim shorts with high boots, floppy hats, and tunics. I love that side to her, I prefer to wear more loose comfortable clothing. I little hippyish. I love how her hair was wavy, super blond, and very long. As the show has progressed, so has Serena’s style. She is much more uptown girl now. More polished tighter fitting clothing. A little bit more dressier in her casual wear and sexier as well. Lots of tight body con dresses. She is not afraid to wear bold colors and accessories all at once. Below are my favorite looks, can’t wait to see what she is wearing this season.

One of my favorite things about buying vintage is the crazy colorful patterns I tend to find. My fashion taste is definitly on two different spectrums. I like either super crazy funky clothes usually in the form of a dress or blazer, or classic simple tops and dresses. Lucky for me, for my more outrageous side I go vintage all of the way. Below is one of my favorite vintage dresses. Its perfect for summer nights and I am bringing it on our cruise to the Bahamas which Im leaving for in two weeks! It is the perfect dress to wear for one of our formal nights.
